dearbhu-tugtha-ag-rialtas-na-breataine-go-dtabharfaidh-siad-reachtaiocht-don-ghaeilge-isteach

Dearbhú tugtha ag Rialtas na Breataine go dtabharfaidh siad reachtaíocht don Ghaeilge isteach

Tá sé dearbhaithe athuair ag Rialtas na Breataine go bhfuil sé i gceist acu reachtaíocht don Ghaeilge a thabhairt isteach i bparlaimint Westminster.

I litir a seoladh chuig páirtithe Stormont inné, dúradh go dtabharfaí an reachtaíocht isteach a luaithe is a bheadh am chuige sa pharlaimint.

“Ó tharla nach bhfuil an beart déanta ag Feidhmeannas Thuaisceart Éireann, tá Rialtas na Ríochta Aontaithe anois ag cur chun cinn pacáiste cothrom reachtaíochta do chúrsaí féiniúlachta, teanga agus cultúir, pacáiste ar deineadh idirbheartaíocht cháiréiseach ina leith sa chomhaontú New Decade, New Approach.”

Deir ceannaire an DUP, Jeffrey Donaldson, go bhfuil rabhadh tugtha ag a pháirtí do Rialtas na Breataine gan an reachtaíocht a thabhairt isteach nó go mbeidh deireadh leis an aighneas faoin bPrótacal Breatimeachta.

Deir Sinn Féin nach bhfuil aon bhaint ag an dá cheist lena chéile agus tá siad ag súil go ndéanfaidh Rialtas na Breataine beart de réir a bhriathair i leith na reachtaíochta go luath.

Dúirt Státrúnaí an Tuaiscirt Brandon Lewis mí an Mheithimh go dtabharfaí an reachtaíocht teanga agus chultúir isteach in Westminster mí Dheireadh Fómhair mura ndéanfaí an cúram in Stormont roimh dheireadh mhí Mheán Fómhair.

Thug Rialtas na Breataine le fios níos túisce an mhí seo go gcloífidh siad leis an ngealltanas sin, agus táthar ag súil go ndéanfar an beart sna seachtainí seo romhainn amach.

Gealladh reachtaíocht don Ghaeilge mar chuid den chomhaontú Ré Nua, Cur Chuige Nua in Eanáir 2020.

Bhí éirí amach san DUP in aghaidh a n-iarcheannaire Edwin Poots mar gheall ar mhargadh a rinneadh le Rialtas na Breataine go dtabharfaí an reachtaíocht isteach in Westminster mura mbeadh an beart déanta in Stormont faoin tráth sin.

Ba nuair a bhagair Sinn Féin i mí an Mheithimh nach bhfillfidís ar Stormont gan gealltanas a fháil ón DUP go dtabharfaí an reachtaíocht teanga isteach a d’aontaigh Rialtas na Breataine go ndéanfaí an cúram in Westminster dá mba ghá.
