Glórtha Uladh – Claire Nic Ruairí

| Dáithí Anraí |

Ó thús mhí Dheireadh Fómhair beidh muid ag athchraoladh na sraithe ‘Glórtha Uladh’ achan seachtain le cuid de na hamhránaithe is iomraití dá bhfuil ann in Ultaibh.

Sa tsraith seo beidh muid i gcuideachta amhránaithe de bhunadh Chúige Uladh agus iad i mbun amhránaíochta ar stíl an tsean-nóis.

Foghlaimeoidh muid faoin stair agus faoin oidhreacht a bhaineann le cuid de na hamhráin sean-nóis is clúití in Ultaibh.

An tseachtain seo tá muid i nDoire Cholmcille agus muid i mbun cómhra leis an amhránaí binn galánta, Claire Nic Ruairí.

Thoisigh Claire amach leis an cheol clasaiceach nuair a bhí sí óg, ach ní raibh sé i bhfad gur thit sí i ngrá leis an Ghaeilge agus an ceol Gaelach.

Bhí Claire i dtólamh páirteach i gcóir agus í ag fás aníos ach is nuair a d’fhreastail sí ar an ollscoil i mBéal Feirste gur chuir sí suim san amhránaíocht ar an sean-nós.

Chaith sí seal ina cónaí i nGaoth Dobhair i nGaeltacht Thír Chonaill, áit ar fhoghlaim sí an chuid is mó dá hamhráin ón amhránaí clúiteach Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde.

Bíonn Claire go minic ag glacadh páirt i gcómórtais amhránaíochta ag Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann agus ag Oireachtas na Samhana, agus go leor duaiseanna buaite aici go dtí seo.
