Caint le tabhairt faoin scríbhneoir Cholm Ó Gaora ar an gCeathrú Rua

Oíche anocht a bheidh seisiún deiridh na bliana ag Cumann Béaloidis Chonamara in Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge ar an gCeathrú Rua.

An t-iriseoir agus an colúnaí le Tuairisc.ie, Seosamh Ó Cuaig a thabharfaidh caint faoina sheanuncail, an scríbhneoir agus an poblachtánach Colm Ó Gaora, caint dar teideal: ‘Uncail mo mháthar – Colm Ó Gaora as Ros Muc’.

Rugadh Colm Ó Gaora (1887-1954), i Ros Muc agus d’oibrigh sé mar mhúinteoir le Conradh na Gaeilge agus leis an gCoiste Gairmoideachais. Bhí sé ina bhall de Bhráithreachas na Poblachta agus gníomhach i gCogadh na Saoirse i nGaillimh.

Scríobh ó Gaora do nuachtán Chonradh na Gaeilge, An Claidheamh Solais agus foilsíodh dhá leabhar óna pheann Mise agus Obair is Luadhainn.

Ó bhí dlúthbhaint ag saol Choilm Uí Ghadhra le cogadh na saoirse agus le bunú an stáit seo, is cinnte gur údar spéise an chaint seo óna dhuine muinteartha 100 bliain i ndiaidh thréimhse chinniúnacha chonspóideach i stair na tíre seo.

Tosóidh an chaint ag a 8.00 pm.
