Tá Ionad Oideachais agus Óige le tógáil ar shuíomh Choláiste Lurgan in Indreabhán

Ceann de na deontais Ghaeltachta is mó riamh le fógairt d’ionad nua i gConamara

Tá ceann de na deontais forbartha is mó riamh ó Roinn na Gaeltachta le fógairt inniu d’fhorbairt ionaid oideachais agus pobail i gConamara.

Meastar gur deich milliún a fhógrófar don Ionad Oideachais agus Óige atá le tógáil ar shuíomh Choláiste Lurgan in Indreabhán.

Tá iarratas pleanála le déanamh i dtaobh na forbartha go luath agus  tuigtear gur in 2026 a bheidh an obair curtha i gcrích.

De réir phleananna Údarás na Gaeltachta, tógfar áis “nua-aimseartha, ilfheidhmeach” in áit an fhoirgnimh atá in úsáid ag Coláiste Lurgan faoi láthair.

Cuireadh moill leis an bplean don Ionad Óige agus Pobail mar gheall ar aighneas idir an Roinn agus an tÚdarás agus úinéir Choláiste Lurgan.

Chuir úinéir Choláiste Lurgan, Micheál Ó Foighil i leith na Roinne agus an Údaráis go minic gur ag tarraingt na gcos a bhí siad i dtaobh an togra in Indreabhán.

Ach dúirt lucht na Roinne agus an Údaráis, gurb amhlaidh go raibh siadsan ag fanacht ar úinéir Choláiste Lurgan glacadh leis an bplean atá acu don fhorbairt.

Bhain an chonspóid le píosa talún a bhí le ceannach don fhorbairt agus le cé a bheadh freagrach as bainistíocht an fhoirgnimh.

Faoin socrú atá déanta beidh an foirgneamh á bhainistiú ag Údarás na Gaeltachta agus beidh Coláiste Lurgan ina thionónta le linn chúrsaí Gaeilge an tsamhraidh.
