Cór na mBan, Béal Feirste

| Dáithí Anraí |

Sa bhliain 2004 bhunaigh grúpa ban áitiúil ó Iarthar Bhéal Feirste Cór na mBan mar imeacht de chuid Fhéile an Phobail. Bhí an t-aischothú a fuair an cór chomh maith sin gur shocraigh siad coinneáil leis agus tá sé ag dul o neart go neart ó shin.

Cuireann an grúpa spás ar fáil do mhná teacht le chéile, amhráin a chanadh, agus comhluadar a dhéanamh. Mar a deir stiúrthóir an chóir Clare Galway “cuireann sé spás ar fáil do mhná a bheith go hiomlán saor agus cruthaitheach”.

Thug Meon Eile cuairt ar cheann dá gcuid cleachtaí i gCultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich, áit ar labhair muid le Clare, atá ina stiúrthóir ar an chór le hocht mbliana anuas. Labhair muid fosta le Sara Boyce atá ag freastal ar ranganna an chóir ó bunaíodh é agus le Breanda Uí Chléirigh a tháinig isteach ann ar na mallaibh agus atá ag baint sult mór as gach seachtain.

Tagann an cór le chéile gach oíche Chéadaoin sa Chultúrlann agus cuirtear fáilte roimh bhean ar bith a bhfuil suim aici a bheith páirteach ann.
