Seán Mac Goill

Tógáil Croí: Seán Mac Goill, Saol Feirsteach

| Dáithí Anraí |

Seoladh leabhar in ionad Spórtlann na hÉireann i gColáiste Feirste ar na mallaibh le ceiliúradh agus comóradh a dhéanamh ar shaol Sheáin Mhic Goill, ailtire as Béal Feirste a d’imir tionchar nach bheag ar fhorbairt fhoirgnimh na cathrach i gcaitheamh na mblianta.

Tá Seán 90 bliain d’aois i mbliana agus dúirt scríbhneoir agus maisitheoir an leabhair linn, Seán Mistéil, go raibh sé thar am leabhar a fhoilsiú le ceiliúradh ceart a dhéanamh air. Bhí Seán é féin i láthair, rud a thabharfadh tógáil croí do dhuine, agus áthas mór air gur ó mhuintir na háite a fuair sé an t-aitheantas.

Labhair Meon Eile le Seán Mac Seáin, siúinéir a d’oibrigh le Seán thar na blianta agus i rith na dtrioblóidí go háirithe. Rinne na fir obair na gcapall, amhail tograí de chuid Whiterock Industrial Enterprises, ar thithe Bhaile Uí Mhurchú, eastát Bhóthar na Carraige Báine agus atógáil Sráid Bombay.

Labhair muid le Pilib Mistéil, Príomhoide Bhunscoil agus Naíscoil an tSléibhe Dhuibh, atá an-bhuíoch go deo as an tacaíocht uilig a thug Seán don scoil. Nuair a tógadh Bunscoil an tSléibhe Dhuibh, tógadh an bhunscoil ach níor tógadh aon naíscoil de bharr nach raibh an maoiniú acu chuige. Tháinig Seán Mac Goill chucu áfach agus bhronn sé na céadta mílte punt de mhaoiniú ar an scoil thar ceann Shócmhainní Eastáit Tionsclaíochta na Carraige Báine le go dtiocfadh leo an naíscoil a bhunú.

D’fhreastail Jake Mac Siacais, Stiúrthóir Forbairt Feirste, ar an seoladh chomh maith. Tá oidhreacht mhuintir mhic Goill go fóill ag leanstan ar aghaidh, agus mac Sheáin, Ciarán, ag obair in éineacht le Forbairt Feirste inniu, ag plé leis an infreastruchtúr úr atá á thógáil fríd an Cheathrú Ghaeltachta.

Is é teideal an leabhair spéisiúil seo ná ‘Togáil Croí: Seán Mac Goill Saol Feirsteach’ agus is fiú go mór é a léamh. Is é ‘An Spás Dín’ a d’fhoilsigh an leabhar agus tá sé ar fáil ón Cheathrú Póilí anois.
