D’fhás Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair as cúrsa i bhforbairt phobail a reáchtáladh faoi scáth Ollscoil na hÉireann, Gaillimh i nGaoth Dobhair i 1984/85. Bunaíodh Coiste Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair i dtosach agus b’as an choiste sin a d’fhás an Comharchumann. Ceannaíodh an tsean Cheardscoil i 1989 ó Choiste Ghairmoideachas Chontae Dhún na nGall le cuidiú ó Údarás na Gaeltachta. Rinneadh athchóiriú le cuidiú ó Roinn na Gaeltachta agus clár Intereg. Tháinig an Comharchumann isteach san Ionad i 1992. Tá forbairt déanta ar an ionad ó shin mar Ionad Gaeilge, Oideachais agus Fiontair.Teagmháil

Luan go hAoine: 9r.n. - 5i.n.Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair developed from a course in community development held by National University of Ireland, Galway in Gaoth Dobhair in 1984/85. Coiste Forbartha Gaoth Dobhair was initially established and it was from that committee that the co-operative grew.
The old Workshop was bought in 1989 from the County Donegal Vocational Education Committee with the help of Údarás na Gaeltachta. Restoration was carried out with the help of the Department of the Gaeltacht and the Intereg programme. The Co-operative moved into the centre in 1992. The centre has since developed into a centre for Irish, Education and Enterprise.
